Health Education Seminars Educating the layman about disease, its causes, prevention and treatment

Health Education Seminars from Dr Robert Peprah-Gyamfi are available from mid-2019. These bespoke seminars, conducted in person and online, are aimed at Christians, charities and healthcare professionals in the UK and internationally.
Based on Dr Peprah-Gyamfi’s medical expertise and training, and on his acclaimed books Health Education Made Easy, Say No to Substances of Addiction, and The Christian Health Manual, the seminars are designed to educate the layman about common diseases and how to avoid them.

Each of the four types of seminars available focus on:

Seminar #1: Substances of Addiction

The comprehensive Seminar, based on the book Say No to Substances of Addiction, is especially designed for young people and young adults – the most susceptible demographic to substance abuse. Each seminar is split into the following parts:

PART ONE: GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
A global problem of immense magnitude
Factors that can lead to substance abuse
Counterattack strategies against a deadly foe

PART TWO: TERMINOLOGIES DEFINED
Explanation of terminologies such as , addiction, gateway drugs, detoxification etc.

PART THREE : A close look at some of the substances of addiction..
Nicotine: The addiction that comes in a smoke…
Cannabis: The most commonly abused substance worldwide
NPS: New Psychoactive Substances
Hallucinogens: Drugs that lead users to see feel or sense things that are not there!
Inhalants: Vapours that affect the mind
Heroin: Injections that bring misery instead of cure
Cocaine: First the “high” then the awful “crash”!
Alcohol: The socially accepted killer
Prescription drugs: Meant for our good but subject to abuse.

PART FOUR : TREATMENT OF ADDICTION
General principles of addiction therapy–
weapons in the fight against alcohol, heroin and nicotine addiction.

PART FIVE : SOME REAL LIFE STORIES (from my work as a Prison doctor)

Seminar #2: Disease Prevention

This comprehensive health seminar examines the most common diseases and medical conditions including high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, asthma, arthritic diabetes and sexually transmitted diseases. It also provides expert knowledge about what everyday, practical measures we can take to prevent them. A percentage of all fees go to the Poverty Alleviation Action Trust.

Seminar #3: Mental Health

This Seminar provides delegates with a short overview of mental health conditions including anxiety and depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). A percentage of seminar fees go to the Poverty Alleviation Action Trust.

Seminar #4: Men’s Health & Women’s Health

Separate seminars for men’s health and women’s health are available. Both examine the most common conditions and diseases applicable to men and women, including:

Menopause; and

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
Impotence /Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
Male Infertility
